INTERACTION MEETING WITH HON’BLE MINISTER OF FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES SHRI SUBODH KANT SAHAI AND ICTC DELEGATION:
Shri S. B. Mohapatra, Board Member of ICTC has explained the general trade opportunities and specific bilateral trade opportunities in food processing sector. Shri V. K. Mishra, Chairman SRC has further added points in context with the visit of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh to China in January 2008 and his reference for promoting the export of food processing products from India.
ICTC delegation has proposed for case studies of YunnanProvince by organizing high level delegation.
ICTC has noted the guidelines given by Hon’ble Minister during the interaction meeting as below:
- Hon’ble Minister suggested that in the context of two top leaders meeting in Jan. 2008 and reference of our Prime Minister for the Promotion of bilateral trade in Food Processing Sector should be carried further and a study group can be setup with MOFPI and remarked that inputs from ICTC and participation of ICTC is welcome.
- Ministry will give priority to understand the operative parts of pre harvest & post harvest technical and trade opportunities with China and its suitable implementation.
- Ministry will also be keen to study the Farming – Farm Trade – Retail Trade linkage model adopted by China.
- MOFPI will welcome the investment from Chinese Companies in FoodProcessingPark established by Ministry in many states of India. Such as Jharkhand, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Uttaranchal and so on.
- Collaboration with Chinese Companies for strengthening the cold chain with cost effectiveness and new age technologies.
