Executive Vice Chairman Mr. V. K. Mishra attended the Opening Ceremony of 3rd China – South Asia Expo at Kunming, People’s Republic of China on 12th June 2015.
The third China-South Asia Expo and 23rd Kunming Import and Export Fair opened at the Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center in Kunming, Yunnan province, on June 12, according to a press conference held by the expo organizers.
This year’s expo covers a 123,000-square-meter area and is expected to attract more than 20,000 merchants from eight countries in South Asia and 10 countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
A total of 3,179 enterprises from 75 countries and regions, as well as 30 domestic provinces, autonomous regions and cities, are taking part in the expo.
Foreign booths account for more than 50 percent of the total 6,150 international standard booths (each international standard booth measures 3m x 3m) in 12 pavilions, the highest ever.
As the guest of honor of this year’s CSA Expo, India organized about 100 enterprises, including Tata Group, one of the country’s biggest conglomerates, and Indian technology company Infosys, to participate.
At present, five foreign dignitaries attended the event. Overseas guests also include 36 officials at the ministerial rank, 42 governors and mayors, 28 foreign envoys and consul generals to China, and over 440 heads of international organizations.
More than 500 representatives from domestic ministries, State-owned enterprises, private businesses and financial institutions took part in the expo as well.
