A brief report of the
“India – China (Hainan) IT Cooperation Conference”
on 19th September, 2012 at Hotel Taj Mahal, New Delhi
Mr. Li Guoliang; Vice Governor of People’s Government of Hainan Province, led a business delegation of 26 members to promote the bilateral trade cooperation in IT Industry between India and Hainan Province of China. Delegation members includes, top ranking officials from Hainan Government and CEO’s of Hainan Top Companies such as Hainan Resort Software Community (RSC), Infobahn Technology Service Company, Ever Trust Telecom Engineering, Haikou Hightech Zone, Sanya VICO Park, Sanya Creative Park, New Horizon Software Co., Tianya Community Network etc. From India side around 70 participants including 30 companies from IT, IT Services and e-commerce etc. have participated. The major companies were Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL, NIIT etc. The emerging companies were Trimax, Zylog, Birlasoft etc.
People’s Government of Hainan Province was the lead Sponsor of the Conference and supported by NASSCOM (The National Association of Software and Services Companies) and Embassy of People’s Republic of China in the Republic of India.
Hon’ble vice Governor has said about historical relations between two countries. He has told about the policies and concessions given by Hainan Government. He has invited investors and IT companies to take the advantage of Great Hainan Weather and Clean infrastructure. He also mentioned that China spends several hundred billion yuan upgrading the nation’s internet infrastructures every year thereby leading to growth of IT and software business. “Hainan provides an ideal location for setting up of IT and IT-enabled industry with huge Chinese local as well as exports markets”. He has conveyed his thanks to all for sparing time and to ICTC for organizing the programme.
