On May 31, 2024, Chinese Ambassador to India H.E. Xu Feihong presented his Letter of Credence to the President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu and paid a courtesy call on the President.
Ambassador Xu conveyed the cordial greetings of President Xi Jinping to President Droupadi Murmu, and said that China and India are both ancient civilizations with a long history, major developing countries and emerging economies, and are currently at a critical stage of national development and rejuvenation. A sound and stable China-India relationship is in the common interests of both sides and will contribute to peace and development of the region and the world. Looking forward, the Chinese side is ready to work with the Indian side to act in accordance with the characterization and common understandings of this relationship reached by leaders of the two countries, carry forward the spirit of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, enhance political mutual trust, manage differences properly, and advance mutual beneficial cooperation, so as to bring China-India relations forward along the right track, and jointly explore the way for major neighboring countries to get along well with each other.
President Murmu asked Ambassador Xu to convey her sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping. Her Excellency President welcomed Ambassador Xu on assuming his new post and said that both India and China are ancient civilizations and the two most populous countries in the world. A sound India-China relations are not only very important to the two countries, but also of great significance to the development and stability of the region and even the world. The two countries should strive to nurture good-neighborly and friendly relations.

Ambassador Xu Feihong arrived in India on May 10 to assume his new post, and presented the working copy of Letter of Credence to the Ministry of External Affairs of India on May 14.
